Interdisciplinary and study abroad opportunities

The Graduate Program in RLL participates in the Master of Arts in Humanities Program. The MAH is designed for students seeking a program of graduate studies with a concentration in French, Italian, or Spanish where a background in the humanities would be useful. It offers advanced training in several areas of specialization: in Comparative literature, Linguistics, Education, etc.

Candidates for the Ph.D. select a field of lesser concentration, which comprises no fewer than four seminars within or outside the Program. Members of the graduate faculty also participate in other disciplinary areas. Each year, one graduate seminar is taught under the aegis of the Melodia Jones Chair by a visiting scholar from France. The Program offers opportunities for summer study in Cuba and Spain, as well as exchange programs with universities in Mexico, France, and Italy.
